We showed you the first new trailer just yesterday, but Apple has already released another one.
If the premise sounds familiar, that’s because it’s an unabashed cross between the USA primetime competition shows Shark Tank and The Voice. These include Gary Vaynerchuk, Gwyneth Paltrow, Jessica Alba, and of course, the man himself, Will.i.am. The show will debut later in the spring, also on Apple Music. Unlike Tidal, Apple has not pursued long-term lockouts of the music itself, but has rather focused on other kinds of exclusive, music-related content. Taylor Swift’s tour documentary being one example.
Following in the footsteps of some of today’s biggest media names, Apple is getting in on the act and creating a new reality TV show of their own – and they’ve revealed the first trailer (which you can see below). We took it out to pitch it to the traditional players and platforms and were really focused on broadcast.
It is an interesting pick for a panel of judges, but we guess we’ll have to wait for the series to air before we can determine how good (or bad) it is.
The four judges, all of whom are entrepreneurs, will swipe left or right before being chosen to act as mentors. Apple Music will have video and other things that I can’t talk about. “We’re going to be aggressive about it”.
Recently Apple CEO Tim Cook had stated how fake news is ‘killing people’s minds’ and it makes it important to have campaigns to educate people and work towards changing the public attitude to online news stories. CBS’ “Late, Late Show” host James Corden, who turned the sketch into a popular feature on his TV show and YouTube, will appear in only a handful of the episodes for the Apple series.
Will said, ‘I have to go have a meeting with Jimmy Iovine and Eddy Cue, are you guys cool if i bring up the idea?’ While these show are centered on Apple’s music or app businesses, there are also rumor that the company is looking into serialized drama and feature-length films, in an effort to directly compete with the likes of Netflix and Amazon.
