It’s not just his own contributions that Albarn’s unsure about – he’s pretty ambivalent about the other “very middle of the road” tracks he’s heard too.
“Adele asked me to work with her and I took the time out for her”, he explained during an interview with The Sunday.
The untitled record, rumoured to be released towards the end of this year, is said to include collaborations with Pharrell and Diane Warren, while Max Martin, who has previously worked with the likes of Taylor Swift, Katy Perry and Maroon 5 has also reportedly contributed to the record. “So I now sing a song from her perspective”, she said.
Lending his support to the “No Second Betrayal” campaign, Albarn recently wrote a poetic defence of the village and the beach, ‘I fell in love with Hallsands almost 20 years ago. Albarn made his “middle of the road” comment with regards to her work with DJ Danger Mouse, the producer who previously has worked with The Black Keys, Norah Jones and Gorillaz.
