Acer has unveiled a new version of its Swift 7 laptop at CES 2018.
The design of the Switch 7 Black Edition makes it ideal for modern mobile professionals, content creators, and anyone who designs, captures and shares ideas on the go.
For $1,299, you can get HP’s Spectre 13, which is lighter than the Swift 7 and also features a more powerful, Intel 8th Gen U Series CPU.
The Nitro 5 (AN515-42) starts at $799 and ships in May 2018.
“The Swift 7 is thin, light and flawless for customers to stay connected on the go”, he adds. Acer has upgraded the screen to a 14-inch panel with a resolution of 1080p. It is called Swift 7 (SF714-51) and is only 8.98 mm thick.
Interestingly, there’s a nano SIM slot next to the power-on button, for on-the-go 4G (not specified in all models). Other highlights include a backlit keyboard, a Corning Gorilla Glass NBT touchscreen and touchpad, and a unibody aluminum chassis. What’s more, it has a fingerprint reader for added protection. The device runs on Windows 10 operating system and offers 4605 mAh Li-ion battery, which the company claims delivers up to 12 hours of battery backup.
The Acer Switch 7 Black Edition is the ideal 2-in-1 for anyone that wants the flexibility of a tablet-to-notebook PC design with enhanced performance capabilities. The Spin 3 notebook notably has an eighth-generation Intel Core processor that is absent on the Swift 7. Previously only offered with a 15.6-inch display, the Spin 3 now has a 14-inch full HD display option.
Finally, Acer updated their affordable Nitro 5 gaming laptop to feature AMD Radeon’s RX560 graphics card and a host of new AMD Ryzen mobile processors. That aside, it packs 8 GB RAM and 256GB worth of PCIe SSD hard drive storage under its hood. For connectivity, it supports 802.11ac wireless with 2×2 MIMO for reliable and fast connections. With his technical knowledge and passion for testing, Avram programmed several of LAPTOP’s real-world benchmarks, including the LAPTOP Battery Test. Both have 11.6in IPS displays, stereo speakers and a pair of USB-Type C ports. There is also an HDR camera to enable video conference.
Finally, Acer is also updating its line of Chromebooks with the new Chromebook 11. The laptop will be released in North America in February starting at $599. The computer will be available in North America in March starting at $1,699.
