Emails sent out by the organisation to journalists drew comparisons between Sanders and Corbyn, highlighting a number of the Labour leader’s more controversial remarks.
Bernie Sanders spent his summer rejecting attempts by journalists to goad him into a fight with Hillary Clinton, saying he liked and respected his Democrat rival and wanted the campaign to be about ideas and not personalities. “Sanders has certainly cut into Clinton’s core constituencies, but his ultimate success may ride on how many new voters he can get to the polls”, said Patrick Murray, director of the Monmouth University Polling Institute.
Though her poll numbers have plummeted with most demographics, including female voters, Clinton does enjoy higher levels of support among female voters than her Democratic opponents on a national scale.
Congressman Ryan also believes the polls will show women coming back to Clinton. When Biden is removed from the race, Sanders still leads Clinton by 7 points.
The dramatic decline in Clinton’s support can only be explained by the email scandal. I have been in and around enough campaigns to know there is an ebb and flow, polls go up and down, peoples’ attention and decision making changes over time.
