2) Play through as quickly as possible – without wiping – until you get to the third door of the escape route (you know – the one that requires three relics to open). That being said, I’d recommend you bring a few friends, or else the mission difficulty will keep you from the Black Spindle until next time.
Bungie is starting to turn things around with The Taken King though, and apparently the new content in the expansion goes beyond the obvious. Instead of opening the doors, however, simply run towards where you board the ketch in the strike, The Shadow Thief. There might be all sorts of hidden tasks and cool rewards all throughout various planets and story missions.
The Black Spindle can be found as part of the Daily Heroic Mission, “Lost to Light”.
If you run out of time while you’re tackling this extremely challenging secret quest, your team gets booted back to orbit to stew in shameful rage. You must defeat fierce enemies, and you only have 10 minutes to do so. In addition to looking awesome, it refills ammo with precision shots much like the Black Hammer weapon from the year one version of the game. Once you destroy the Taken, and fight your way to the room where you killed Taniks, kill the boss, and you’ll complete the mission and earn the Black Spindle Exotic Sniper Rifle. We’ll find out after the daily Destiny reset Thursday morning if it is still obtainable.
