Matthew McConaughey sports a beard & a bit of additional weight while stepping in to character to film scenes for his new movie Gold on Sunday morning (Oct. four) in NYC.
Thankfully, for fans of “Magic Mike” era Matthew, the actor hasn’t completely gone to seed, as his dramatic new look is actually all in aid of his latest movie role. He was seen wearing a gray suit and a printed tropical theme tie. He was seen puffing cigarette while toting around a briefcase. But his major transformation was completed with his balding hair and the very obvious “dad bod”.
Bryce Dallas Howard also stars in the Stephen Gaghan-directed film and the Jurassic World star was snapped kissing McConaughey on set.
His upcoming movie “Gold” is about Kenny Wells who happened to be a struggling businessman, trying to get back on his feet.
Working alongside a geologist, he ventures to the Indonesian jungle in search of gold.
His recent role as Rustin Cohle on True Detective has proved hugely popular and led to him winning numerous awards.
He’s previously lost a lot of weight for Dallas Buyers Club, but this is something quite different.
McConaughey said, “For me, I go whatever the role that I’m playing need”.
“Gold” will be distributed in the United States by Bob and Harvey Weinstein’s TWC-Dimension and is targeting a Fall 2016 release.
