They are clearly having a great year even though they probably aren’t the celebrities who come to mind when it comes to being highest-paid. Those two stars were Floyd Mayweather Jr. with $300M and Manny Pacquiao with $160M. One Direction is close behind her with $130 million in earnings, though, and Howard Stern wraps up the Top 5 with his $95 million. ($80 million) and soccer star Cristiano Ronaldo ($79.5 million).
The professional boxing match in Las Vegas brought in 4.4 million purchases via pay-per-view and, as CBS MoneyWatch recently reported, helped ring up more than $1 billion for Nevada casinos during the month of May.
The 38-year-old undefeated boxer earned $300 million this year, the highest payday for any athlete.
