By midday, precipitation in Indy will be falling as snow. The switch will then happen from northwest to southeast through the rest of Friday evening, Friday night and Saturday morning.

The roads aren’t the only areas that people need to be concerned. The cold front moved through Kentuckiana a little earlier than expected with temperatures crashing before dawn along the I-65 corridor. The system is expected to exit the region Friday night. Wind chills will drop to about zero degrees by Friday morning.

Meanwhile, WCA recalled its trucks and suspended trash collections in the Kansas City area because of icy streets. Even with the colder air arriving earlier and temperatures around freezing, it will take awhile for road surfaces to cool down given the recent warmth.
