Google Sorts Out Nexus 6P Size On Pixel XL
Gone are rumors about the Google Nexus Sailfish and Nexus Marlin, as they have been replaced by the upcoming Google Pixel and Google Pixel XL. It sports the codename “Marlin” and rumored to be sporting a 5.5-inch QHD display, Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 821 processor along with 4GB of RAM and the choice of either 32GB or 128GB of storage inside.
Interestingly, while, Google hasn’t yet revealed anything about the Pixel and Pixel XL release date, specs and price details, sellers on online websites have already begun selling the front panels of the handsets.
At the same time, it appears that Nougat is rolling out to Nexus devices faster than it did a year ago so it’s very possible that it will come sooner to HTC devices as well. Google unveiled its 2015 smartphone lineup, the Nexus 5x and Nexus 6P, the new Chromecast and new Android 6.0 Marshmallow software features. This is due to the fact that owners were hoping that the handset would be given the update to Android 7.0 Nougat. There’s no word yet on how much the Pixel XL might cost, but considering that it’s a larger device with a higher-resolution display, it’s likely that it’d be more than the Pixel.
A leaked benchmark test on Geekbench indicates both the upcoming PIxel and Pixel XL smartphones will ship with Android 7.1 Nougat.
Nonetheless, sources said that the Pixel XL is packed with 4 GB of RAM. The smartphones are expected to be powered by a Snapdragon 820 SoC (with new revision). The benchmark also sits in line with earlier reports. The company is rumored to be holding an october 4 event to unveil the pair, which have been built by HTC. Though Google has not made any official announcements yet, leaks and rumors have surfaced ahead of time.
That aside, the new Google Pixel will be available in two versions – USA and global. GSMArena also reports that the cases being manufactured for the Pixel and Pixel XL have a rather wide hole for the camera, sparking speculations about a dual-camera setup.
