Ms Ford alleges Mr Kavanaugh drunkenly attempted to rape her while his friend, Mark Judge, stood by and watched during a 1982 gathering.

Senators who viewed the FBI’s report said it showed no corroboration of the allegations. And even if pressure were to cause Collins to stray from her Republican colleagues – something the ardent protesting and emotional personal testimony prior to her vote did not do – it would do nothing to change the minds of the 49 other Republican senators who voted for Kavanaugh, nor would it influence President Donald Trump.
Speaking at a panel during the New Yorker festival on Sunday, Rice said she had “a lot more homework” to do before committing to running.
