They are accepting blood of all types and encourage people to make appointments. While some signed up for appointments beforehand, walk-ins were accepted. People who are as young as 16 years old (with parental consent), weigh at least 110 pounds and are in general good health may be eligible to donate blood.
It’s one of the biggest needs in Las Vegas right now- blood donations.
“We’re working in close coordination with hospitals [at Las Vegas] to provide comfort and support”, he said.

St. Mary’s Regional Blood Center typically has about 15 people a day but yesterday they saw more than 50 people wanting to donate. On Tuesday, officials say another 800 donated. “That’s how far in advance we are”, said Sisolak. “Last night’s tragedy illustrates that it’s the blood already on the shelves that help during an emergency”.
More than $659,000 had been donated to the fund as of 10:15 a.m.

City officials are urging people to give blood for the hundreds of injured victims at any of the three donation centers in the area.
A few walk-ins sat waiting for their turn. Because of this, blood supplies must constantly be replenished.
Doors to the facility normally don’t open until 7am but when United Blood Services regional director Erik Hill spotted 30 odd people waiting inline at 2:30am, he knew they couldn’t wait. “That’s the first thing I did, was call and see if he was alright”, said Camper.
“You can only use the blood that is readily available”, said Evans.
“There’s a certain sense of pride knowing you helped out, ” he said.
