Huckabee: I’m in for good, despite Walker exit call

In both polls, businessman Donald Trump leads in the Republican race and former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton leads in the Democratic campaign. Marco Rubio, who was in Dallas for a previously scheduled event. He was a nonentity during the two presidential debates in which he participated. His staff disagreed about how the 47-year-old Walker could regain the star status he held after electrifying conservatives in Iowa in January. “But that’s not going to happen and it’s not going to work“.

Walker’s departure reflected the difficulty faced by the 15-candidate field in attracting enough financial support from a limited pool of donors.

The campaign sought to renew its focus on Iowa given its proximity to Wisconsin, but a CNN/ORC poll on Sunday showed the magnitude of his problems.

Walker made the comments in a conference call Wednesday where he thanked donors for their support in his campaign, according to the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, which listened in on the call.

Scott Walker ended his presidential campaign yesterday after a rough summer, where he dropped from the top-tier of candidates to an also-ran.

“One of our state senators who had been backing Gov. Walker was quoted as saying that the governors left in the race are no Scott Walkers”, Masters said.

The proposal elicited immediate opposition from Democrats and union leaders, who said it will open the door to GOP cronyism and corruption.

Carson had a less than sparkling debate performance, the low point of which came when he said, in essence, that it was a mistake for this country to respond militarily to the 9/11 attacks.

“In the end I believe that the voters want to be for something and not against someone”. He declined to say whether he would do so Friday, focusing instead on the next conservative proposal he’s promoting as part of his five-year transformation of his state.

“Once Donald Trump got in, and he was so different from everyone else, it was easy for him to get attention, which I think really made a challenge for Walker and Rick Perry and other people like that”, Wagner said. “He is right. With so many Republicans in the race, the voices become muddled”, said Saxe. As Wisconsin Public Radio’s Shawn Johnson reports, those victories never gave Walker long-term traction in the Republican primary, and his national campaign damaged his standing back home. Obama was a fresh face, but he was also extraordinarily politically talented, and he won not because of his lack of experience, but in spite of it. He did so by tying his opponent to the past, by presenting himself as the only option for change.

Ohio Gov. John Kasich distributed a fundraising appeal 90 minutes after Walker’s announcement noting that he’s “the only Midwestern governor in the race who can bring our values to Washington, D.C”.

Iowa has a lot of allure for Republican presidential hopefuls. There are no Kohl’s stores in D.C.as far as I know. Better to show some discretion than go all in on a suicide mission, especially when he’s only in his mid-40s.

Former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush called Walker a “great public servant” – and quickly urged Walker’s supporters to consider him.
