O.J. Simpson, the former National Football League star, has been granted parole and is expected to be released from a Nevada prison in October.
Well, the parole hearing has promptly started and I will say, to be a woman beater many understandably believe is a murderer, I must say, he looks quite fit for a 70-year-old man. “I’ve done it as well and respectfully as anybody can”.
In 2013 the Nevada Board of Parole Commissioners granted him parole on some of his convictions, but for not the more violent charges.
He appeared before the parole board from Lovelock Correctional Center via closed-circuit video.
The parole board considered Simpson’s stellar behavior while incarcerated, his age, future plans and other factors in determining he’d pose little risk to society if released. “Nothing I can do about that”.
O.J. Simpson attends his parole hearing on July 20, 2017. He also has access to a Screen Actors Guild (SAG) pension which he invested $5 million years ago, according to a friend Tom Scotto from an interview Sunday with USA Today. He said his longtime friend had apologized to him for the incident, but he added that O.J. Simpson never pointed a gun at him or struck him. “On behalf of my family, my brother, my sister, my aunt, my uncle”, Arnelle said, “we just want him to come home.so we can move forward for us, quietly”.
Earlier Thursday, Simpson appeared via videoconference from the prison, where he fielded questions from the commissioners in Carson City. He was convicted of armed robbery and has spent almost nine years behind bars.
And one thing he said during the hearing… bothered people..
“I could easily stay in Nevada, but I don’t think you guys want me here”, he said.
During questioning, Simpson said he has “basically lived a conflict-free life” and that he doesn’t expect to have any conflicts when he leaves prison.
In addition, robbery victim Bruce Fromong testified that he had forgiven Simpson for the crime at that Las Vegas hotel room, and advocated for his release. Simpson was granted early release from Lovelock prison in Nevada.
The convict reportedly receives nearly £20,000 a month while serving his sentence at the Lovelock Correctional Centre in Nevada. “We would consider paying him a guarantee of thousands of dollars”.
The sentence, which carries a maximum of 33 years, stems from a 2007 confrontation at a Las Vegas hotel.
Simpson has always denied he killed Brown and Goldman. Right now, I’m at at point in my life where I can spend as much time with my children and my friends. Simpson, who was acquitted of his son’s murder, will plead his case for parole in an unrelated crime case.
Then a decade later, he and five accomplices – two with guns – stormed a hotel room and seized photos, plaques and signed balls, some of which never belonged to Simpson, from two sports memorabilia dealers.
