And while officials declined to detail the specific recommendations of Trump’s top aides, the strikes that the President ordered reflected a break from the nationalist stance he adopted as a candidate that was driven, in large part, by Bannon’s advice.

Another aide who could be reassigned is Steve Bannon, Trump’s chief strategist, who has tangled with Jared Kushner, the president’s son-in-law and a close adviser, the Journal said.
But they may not be able to. However, fears are rising that if Trump pushes Bannon all the way out, it would trigger a backlash at Breitbart, who are one of the biggest news outlets who hasn’t been publishing negative news about the president.

Bannon was removed from the NSC in what the White House claims was a planned move.
Bannon and Kushner sat in on the meeting as well.
But it’s clear his position in the White House is in jeopardy.
“He’s got a long fuse for that kind of thing”, said one.
