The NORAD tradition has continued for more than six decades. Before Norad was formed, when it was still the Continental Air Defence Command (Conad), a newspaper misprinted a Sears Roebuck & Co. advertisement containing the phone number for children to call in to talk to Santa.
The Santa tracker “has become a magical tradition for generations of families everywhere”, General Lori Robinson, commander of the US Northern Command and NORAD, told Politico. Icons on the map and below out allow you to tap into a city and learn more about it, and a “Movies” button at the top of the page lets you see video of Santa where he’s already been spotted.
Casper from Arlington, Virginia, was a child after Trump’s own heart.
“Oh, building blocks, that’s what I always liked too”. I always loved building blocks …
“It is really exciting for the crew and especially for the pilots who are intercepting Santa to confirm that visual identification, you can really hear the excitement in their voices when they roll in on Santa”, said Leaton.
In another call, Trump praised a young caller for his Christmas wish. That’s what your wish is? “That’s better than asking for some toy or something, that’s much better, right?”
But Santa’s elves have said his arrival may be delayed if Ireland’s boys and girls are not in bed. Trackers worldwide can speak with a live phone operator to get Santa’s whereabouts by calling toll-free 1-877-HI NORAD (1-877-446-6723).
The NORAD Santa Tracker first started in 1955, but the history of the Santa Tracker is actually pretty amusing and ridiculous.
Earlier, Mr. Trump held another phone call where he spoke to five USA military members overseas during the holiday season, thanking them for their service.
