We’d say it’s a prehistoric Far Cry, but that’s highly unlikely.
Ubisoft is teasing a new game announcement by streaming a mysterious video of a cave painting depicting a man holding a bow in one hand and a large spear in the other.
The reveal that Ubisoft is crafting could hopefully be today at a few point. The stream’s title “Ubisoft Announcement” doesn’t offer many clues either. The stream does not contain any information, outside of a link to the publisher’s website and the phrase “survival is timeless”. It does seem odd to announce a new installment for a series as popular as Far Cry outside of a major event like E3, but perhaps the development wasn’t far enough along earlier this summer.
The video is slowly zooming out to reveal more of the painting, so keep an eye on it. The Far Cry series is all about survival, and it looks like they want to broaden it out past modern day settings. The big question is, do you think Ubisoft can pull it off?
It could, of course, be a new game franchise entirely.
