“Drag Me Down” is the first single One Direction released since Zayn Malik left the band.
The British boy band premiered “Drag Me Down” less than 24 hours prior on Spotify. To celebrate, new single “Drag Me Down” made its live debut.
“We wanted to surprise everyone with the whole single just dropping”, Niall Horan tells the crowd, adding, “And that’s exactly what we did tonight here with you”.
“Hopefully you love it, we’re proud of it”, Louis Tomlinson tweeted soon after the song was released.
“Thank you for all your constant support. It’s called Drag Me Down & I hope you love it as much as we do”.
The song seems to have gone down well with fans with some calling it “absolutely perfect” and “AMAAAAAAZING” on Twitter.
Louis recently hit headlines after it was claimed he’s set to become a father.
The song will feature on the band’s forthcoming fifth studio album which is expected to be released in November.
Zayn said he will reveal the “real me” to fans, as he tweeted a picture showing him signing a new record contract with RCA Records.
The boys are now in the middle of the On the Road Again tour in America before returning to the UK in September.
