The show ended before we could see what happened, but we were promised an awesome few episodes with the show returning next Monday and Tuesday night! RIP team Diggy – maybe your cute glasses and sneaker loving self will make it on Bachelor In Paradise.
And on Monday night another problematic contestant in Bachelor Nation made an appearance. None of us were aware of them Very unfortunate’. On the Monday, June 19, episode of the matchmaking show, tensions were running high amongst the men as they continued to vie for Rachel Lindsay’s heart.
Kenny’s reaction to Lee’s rose is everything. When the producers ask him to clarify he replies, “You know exactly what I mean when I say that. Once you kind of get to know the people on each season, it’s fun to follow and see all the insane madness that happens”.
Chris Harrison stepped into Rachel’s interview.
When Kenny tried to defend himself to Lindsay, he told her: “Lee’s handshake doesn’t match his smile”. He told her, “You just need to tell me what you want, I can facilitate anything”. It’s possible to cast guys who’ll start drama without giving the spotlight to someone like Lee. He’s rather soft spoken, he gushes about his daughter and generally comes off as a rather chill guy.
Soon, Rachel was crying and appeared to feel the burden of her milestone “Bachelorette” stardom, mentioning “the pressures I feel about being a black woman”. It’s such a dog whistle statement and I assumed Rachel was sharp enough to see through that.
Rachel Lindsay, pictured May 21, 2017 at the 2017 Billboard Music Awards, the “Bachelorette” star responded to racist comments made by former “Bachelor” star Leah Block.
There’s also just a degree to which this happens every season-that the Bachelor or Bachelorette gets caught in between two people in the house who are warring.
Kara: I can not stand Iggy. Josiah may have won the tournament, but the late-night R&B radio jockey voice he used on the microphone left me a little curious if he was always putting on an act around me. “I’m going to be the one that has to deal with that, and nobody else, and that’s a lot”. On their first one-on-one date, Rachel and Dean drink some champagne in a field and then hop a ride on the Goodyear blimp like they’re Ice Cube or something. But it’s the back and forth between those things that I’m struggling with. Dean called Lee a “bitch” and accused him of being a racist. It’s time to for my love story to hit the road … but first, the guys and I had to make it out of the last cocktail party in the mansion. She even admitted with teary eyes that she knew people would judge her for her decision. Later Kenny confronts Lee and takes the bait to get angry, while Rachel listens. The group also has some fun competing in a friendly spelling bee. As expected, Dean gets a rose. Claiming that he loves both Kenny and Eric to his white friends, he constantly admits during the confessionals that one of his life passions is getting a rise out of people and making them look foolish. From my conversations with the guys and by their demeanor, I had started to worry that they were taking me too seriously.
