McNairy can be seen in the courtroom scene in the Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice trailer, although his brief appearance gives very little indication as to who he is or what he’s doing.
One example is Scoot McNairy.
Fast forward to today and though many would have liked the actor to jump into the shoes of either Metallo, Blue Beetle, Robin, Maxwell Lord or even Doomsday, Heroic Hollywood has seemingly confirmed that McNairy will indeed play Jimmy Olsen in the 2016 superhero showdown, an investigative journalist at the Daily Planet who suffered a serious injury during the calamitous, city-levelling brawl between Zod and Supes. The actor is reportedly in the film and rumors were rife several months ago that he would be playing the role of Jimmy Olsen.
The source says “Jimmy was injured during the battle of Zod vs Superman“.
/Film reports that last year, McNairy was spotted on set wearing bright green socks, which indicates CG work. He doesn’t blame Superman for it [his loss of legs]. For many, Batman going at it with Superman feels like a long-time dream finally realised.
Despite the recent onslaught of information about Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, there’s still a lot that’s being kept under wraps. It wouldn’t be surprising if the DC Cinematic Universe wanted to introduce him at some point, and McNairy is a plausible fit. The movie also stars Henry Cavill (Superman), Ben Affleck (Batman), Gal Gadot (Wonder Woman), Jesse Eisenberg (Lex Luthor), Jeremy Irons (Alfred J. Pennyworth), Holly Hunter (Senator Finch), Amy Adams (Lois Lane), Laurence Fishburne (Perry White) and Diane Lane (Martha Kent).
The leak comes just one day after Zack Snyder released 21 seconds of footage, which teased the official trailer, due out in IMAX theaters on April 20.
