The main focus of the update is on cross-device experiences. The new version will bring enhanced integration of desktop computers and smartphones. However, the entire planned redesign won’t launch with the Fall update, only major portions of it.

2. Story Remix Coming to #Windows10, Story Remix will help you find inspiration and explore new ways to create great stories.
As seen in the promo video from Windows, Story Remix will allow users to import 3D models from Remix 3D or Paint 3D and incorporate them in to their final cut, similar to Snapchat’s “World Lenses”. When you draw (ink) on a video, the drawing can follow a moving object for a professional look – it is remarkable. Now called Fluent Design System, this project will slowly change the look and feel of all Windows apps. It will facilitate the creation of applications adapting to different screen sizes. Indeed, it’s also meant to embrace devices that might have no screen at all, such as wearables or Cortana-powered smart speakers. The design also supports input of touch, handwriting, voice, gaze and gestures – in addition to the traditional keyboard and mouse. It basically contains 5 elements of design system: Light, Depth, Motion, Material, Scale.
This is what was known as “Project Neon”, Microsoft’s apparent redesign of the Windows 10 interface. The company needs apps for this to work, which is why it’s announced Acer and HP-made Windows Mixed Reality Headset Developer Edition units priced at $299 and $329, respectively. The update is scheduled for the late September 2017. It leverages Microsoft’s Translation APIs to translate content in 10 different languages including English, French, German, Chinese, Japanese, Spanish, Russian and Portuguese, among others.
