1 dead, 1 missing after boat hits Key Bridge in Md
The boat was on the Patapsco River under the Francis Scott Key Bridge about 3 a.m. Sunday when the distress call went out.
The body of one woman ejected in the wreck was recovered before 8:30 a.m., as stated by CBS Baltimore.
Six other people were rescued and are in the hospital, Maryland Natural Resources police said.
Additional details were not immediately released. Eight people were aboard the boat, and four were thrown from the vessel.
A few on board the boat swam to nearby Carroll Island.
Police said the people involved were not wearing life jackets.
By Sunday afternoon, Maryland Natural Resources Police said that authorities had recovered the body of a second woman, who also was not identified.
This is the 13th boating fatality of the season.
Natural Resources Police are being assisted by several jurisdictions including Baltimore County, Baltimore City, Anne Arundel County and the Coast Guard.
