1 of 2 NYPD officers shot in the Bronx leaves hospital
Two on-duty police officers were shot in Melrose around 8 p.m. Thursday, police have confirmed.
The officers were on patrol a staircase inside the Melrose Houses when they “encountered armed suspects and were shot”, the NYPD said.
