Several people were injured Monday morning when a vehicle t-boned a minivan near several schools in New Jersey, according to reports.
Police say a minivan traveling south on Arlington Avenue collided with a Ford Taurus that was traveling eastbound on West 9th Street at about 7:15 a.m. The minivan had the stop sign.
The fatal crash was at the intersection of Arlington Avenue and West 9th Street.
Police say the crash caused the minivan to roll over, killing the 10-year-old. The child’s name has not been released by authorities.
Six children, including the 10-year-old, were in the van that was being driven by a woman, police said. The other five children, whose ages weren’t immediately available, were taken to the hospital with unknown injuries.
All those in the crash were taken to area hospitals and treated for their injuries, and there were no injuries to pedestrians within the area, police said.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation. Plainfield Police would not say if the minivan was a private or municipal vehicle.
