12,975 Zumba Enthusiasts Set New Guinness Record

A city in thePhilippines set a new Guinness World Record for the largest Zumba class on Sunday.
A total of 12,975 participants in yellow T-shirts gathered on the streets of Mandaluyong as they danced continuously to high tempo music for 30 minutes.
Guinness World Records certifier Alan Pixley announced that Mandaluyong Zumba class was a new Guinness record. It beat Cebu’s record a year ago with 8,232 participants.
Zumba is a dance-fitness program founded by Colombian choreographer Alberto “Beto” Pérez in the 1990s.
Guinness World Records officials were there to document the event and in the end, gave the official announcement of the city’s achievement.
The gathering was held in celebration of Mayor Benhur Abalos’s birthday.
