It is no secret that A Game of Thrones author George R.R. Martin is severely past his due date for The Winds of Winter, the sixth installation of his A Song of Ice and Fire series, so much so that the Game of Thrones television series on HBO has surpassed the book.
George R.R. Martin has insisted that he’s not purposefully dragging his feet on finishing The Winds of Winter, but it doesn’t really matter what his excuse is.

Close to six months later, Martin is not finished with “The Winds of Winter”. “My editors and publishers are disappointed, HBO is disappointed, my agents and foreign publishers and translators are disappointed. but no one could possibly be more disappointed than me”, wrote Martin. Martin mentioned the Son of Kong in passing, but no concrete updates on its completion. Fans demanded George RR Martin to reveal some details about Damphair Greyjoy to which “The Winds of Winter” author has responded with “The Greyjoys have it – you sick motherf***ers”.
