12-Year-Old Boy Dies on Kansas Water Park Ride
A young boy died on Sunday in an apparent accident on what has been dubbed the world’s tallest water slide at a popular water park in Kansas City, park and police officials said.
The accident happened Sunday afternoon at the waterpark in Kansas City, Kansas.
The Kansas City Kansas Police Department said they are investigating the death. No other details at this time. “Our focus is on the family right now”.
The boy died while riding the Verrückt, the world’s tallest water slide, said spokeswoman Winter Prosapio.
Verrückt, a 17-story-high ride, opened in July 2014.
One of two skydivers who died plummeting into a Northern California vineyard was 18 and jumping for the first time, and his family was there watching when he hit the ground, the owner of the skydiving center and local.
The park will be closed Monday for an investigation. KSNW sister station KSHB has a crew on the scene, and we will post updates here as soon as we have more information.
