12-year-old boy to be charged with murder
Jamar Milton, 17, and Shuntayvious Primes-Willis, 15, are charged with 1st degree murder and use of a weapon in the death of Jamymell Ray.
Two teenagers, Jamar E. Milton, 17, left, and Shuntayvious Primes-Willis, 15, were booked into the Douglas County Youth Center about 5:30 p.m. Monday.
As for the June 29th shooting, Charles Fisher, who survived the incident, told the Omaha World-Herald he and his friend were driving through a park and slowed when three people started walking toward them, trying to get their attention. Fisher was treated at the hospital and later released.
Omaha Police Chief Todd Schmaderer said Jarrell Milton, 12, is still at large.
Fisher, who was wounded in the attack, escaped and later labeled the three boys as the shooters in a lineup, the newspaper reported.
A warrant has been issued for 12-year-old Jarrell Milton following a deadly shooting on June 29.
Douglas County Attorney Don Kleine told United States of America Today prosecutors are working to decide whether Jarrell Milton should be prosecuted as an adult or a child.
Prosecutors believe all of the suspects have ties to gangs. A prosecutor said Tuesday the boys met the two men for the drug deal and during the meeting they boys flashed guns, the World-Herald reports.
Pueblo police are working with the Federal Bureau of Investigation to stop gang violence. “But also, we are concerned about downward pressure from some of the older gang members pushing the younger ones to do some of the dirty work, and that’s of concern to us”.
Three suspects are wanted for first degree murder. They’re young, but they’re accused of committing serious crimes.
“There’s a question in regards to the 12-year-old under the new law, whether we can proceed in adult court, so we’ll get him into custody and then make that determination”, Kleine said.
