12-year-old Joshua Oxley missing after school ‘incident’
A 12-year-old boy who disappeared on his way home from classes have gone missing police have revealed.
MISSING schoolboy Joshua Oxley has been found safe and well in Leeds city centre, police have reported. “We’d like to thank everyone for sharing the appeal to locate Joshua and thank all who came forward with information to help with our inquiries”.
Earlier, police said the last sighting of Joshua yesterday was at Chapeltown Railway Station between 6.45pm and 7pm on Tuesday.
Joshua Oxley was last seen at 4.30pm yesterday and police have spent the night searching for him.
He had attended Winterhill School in Rotherham as normal, but it is now feared something may have happened during the day which led to his disappearance.
Superintendent Paul McCurry, from Rotherham police, said it was a “very hard time” for Joshua’s family and urged anyone who might have seen him to come forward.
Joshua is slim and around 4ft 6in tall, with short, light brown hair.
“We do not believe Joshua has a phone or access to any money and will still be wearing his school uniform”.
Joshua was not in any trouble and his mother and the rest of his family just want him to get in touch, he added.
He was also carrying a distinctive red backpack and was wearing a grey Hollister hoodie and his school uniform.
Extensive searches carried out overnight by specialist search officers and supported by a helicopter would continue, said police.
