16 percent turnout predicted for Wisconsin Aug. 9 primary
The Palm Beach County Supervisors of Elections Office is gearing up for the upcoming Florida primary.
The Elections Commission turnout prediction released Thursday equates to almost 712,000 voters. “Some school board races, some constitutional offices, county commissioners, etc. that appear on the ballot”.
Hill’s lawsuit says the state should release results of the March 15 vote and recount ballots from the June 7 primary, disallowing people who voted in the Republican primary March 15 and the Democratic one June 7. But he adds that you really can’t compare a primary with a general election. “With a presidential election year, we hope to see more voters at the polls”, says Fleming.
Vote-by-mail is coming to a mailbox near you. Monday also is the last chance to change parties before the election.
Haas reminded voters that because this is a partisan primary, they can only vote for candidates from one party.
Two U.S. Senate candidates – Augustus Invictus of Orlando and Paul Stanton of Deland – are competing for the Libertarian nomination.
Florida residents who want to cast their ballots in the August 30th primary elections, but haven’t registered to vote yet, better do so soon.
Signed registration forms must be dated no later than Aug. 1 and received in the Elections Office by Friday, Aug. 5.
