160-Acre Fire Forces Evacuations in Amador County
It had burned 1,200 acres and was 30 percent contained as of 8:24 p.m. Wednesday night.
As of 4:30 p.m., officials said that some structures could be in the path of the fire that is raging east of Jackson.
Neither the Tuolumne-Calaveras or Amador-El Dorado Cal Fire units could be reached for comment. The flames also burned about half an acre of grass around the home.
The fire is threatening homes and evacuations have been ordered for Amador Lane and the end of Electra and Charamuga Ranch Road.
The blaze may have started near Butte Mountain Road in Amador County.
Campbell said he anticipates all schools to be back in session Monday. There were various road closures on Highway 26 from Happy Valley to lower Dorray Road.
About 17,000 customers are without power as crews continue to battle a large wildfire in the Jackson area.
Three evacuation centers have been set up at the Jackson Rancheria Hotel in conjunction with the Red Cross, the San Andreas Town Hall and the Calaveras County Fairgrounds in Angels Camp.
Firefighters have not determined a cause of the fire.
