18 migrants found hiding in truck in UK
Eighteen suspected illegal immigrants have been found by police stowed away in a lorry on the M1.
The lorry was stopped by police after a passing motorist grew suspicious and called 999 while driving on the M25 in Hertfordshire yesterday.
During the search that took place at Junction 9 of the main arterial motorway to the North of England they discovered the individuals that are suspected to have entered the UK illegally and without proper documentation.
Traffic policemen tweeted an illustration of this very migrants seated on the earth alongside a sitting lorry set with freight, reputedly on a dual carriageway provider place.
About 5,000 migrants have gathered in Calais, many of them willing to make the risky attempt to get to Britain.
In the latest incident, a member of the public called police on Saturday afternoon to report suspicious activity on a lorry on the M25.
Hertfordshire police said the migrants were taken into custody.
They told the news site that the 40-year-old lorry driver who is from Poland, has been arrested on suspicion of helping people enter the country unlawfully. The lorry’s driver abandoned the vehicle before police arrived.
One migrant walked all the way through the Tunnel earlier this week – despite the extreme danger of making the crossing while trains speed between Britain and France.
