2 pedestrians struck and killed by taxi in Philadelphia
Police say 25-year-old Bryan Botti was hit around 4:30 a.m. Monday while crossing Broad Street and Arch Street.
Philadelphia Police say two people were struck and killed by a taxi cab early on Labor Day. The man was pronounced dead at a hospital less than 45 minutes later.
They were crossing Broad Street when they were struck by a taxi cab, sending them flying about 100 feet, reports state. Action News has learned there was a witness at another light near the intersection. He was previously an operations associate at the firm.
“Amanda was a smart, outgoing and hardworking young woman”, said Deirdre Wood, executive director of the Freedom Valley Association YMCA Phoenixville Branch. She received a bachelor’s degree in exercise science in 2013 from Shippensburg University, before taking a position at Corporate Fitness Works, in Malvern, as a fitness and wellness specialist. Media reports did not say whether any charges had been filed. Police say the investigation continues. The driver was said to have chest pains.
