2 people charged in fatal shooting of 14-year-old girl
Two people have been charged in connection with the shooting death of 14-year-old Lecent Ross.
Investigators have arrested one youth and one 18-year-old in connection to the July 9th shooting death, which occurred inside a Jamestown Cres. home.
Petrie said last month that there were no outstanding people related to the shooting and police were interviewing everyone present at the scene.
“She was a special individual that dreamed of becoming a lawyer”, a rattled Alicia Jasquith said.
The.40-calibre Smith & Wesson that killed her, a semi-automatic handgun, was seized by police to undergo ballistics testing to determine if it had been used in other crimes. Police would not confirm who fired the gun.
At a press conference last month, police said they were not ruling anything out in their investigation, including the possibly that the teen may have accidently shot herself while playing with a gun.
Paramedics said they had initially transported the girl to hospital in life-threatening condition, but police later confirmed she had died from her injuries.
