2 people dead, 3 missing after boat capsizes in Ohio River
As mentioned by actually Kentucky resources, couple of people have also been eliminated and 3 keep missing after the tube boat these were using in strike the Clark Memorial Bridge and capsized in the Ohio River.
Louisville Fire Chief Greg Frederick corrected earlier reports that three people were killed and that the boat struck the Clark Memorial Bridge.
Three children and one adult were hospitalized, but their conditions were not known.
Officials believe nine people were on the pontoon boat. We have four other people that were transported to the hospital.
Three victims were sent to Korsair Children’s Hospital and are expected to recover. That person’s condition is unknown.
The first call to dispatchers came in around 9:28 p.m.as thousands gathered along Waterfront Park for the 4th of July festivities.
One body was retrieved on the Indiana side of the river, Frederick said.
Rescue crews are continuing to search for the three missing people.
Mendez said a search for the missing has not resumed, and will likely be a recovery effort at this point.
