Meanwhile, Indian Ambassador to Pakistan, Dr. TCA Raghavan, talking on the occassion, said Pakistan had broken protocol by not inviting the speaker of Indian Jammu and Kashmir Assembly. India and Pakistan must reach an agreement on their own first. “By contrast, enlarging the diplomatic agenda will enable us to bring more issues and linkages into play”, he said.
“We do not agree with this that the Jammu and Kashmir Assembly or its Speaker has no legitimacy”.
Parliamentary delegations from more than 175 legislatures of 53 countries of the Commonwealth are scheduled to attend the conference.
India has threatened to boycott the event if J&K Speaker Kavinder Gupta was not invited. “This is the fourth incident of cease-fire violation by Pakistan along the LoC in Poonch in the last 36 hours”.
