2 women dead from suspected drug overdoses at music fest
KTLA5 (via Billboard) reports that the 18-year-old and 19-year-old women were taken to the hospital from the festival on Saturday night.
ABC 7 News has reported that two unidentified women died of “suspected drug overdoses” at the HARD Summer Festival on Saturday. She was pronounced dead at the hospital at 6.04 p.m. Acts like The Chemical Brothers, Jack Ü, Dillon Francis, Porter Robinson, Ratatat, Big huge, The Weeknd, Tchami and Jamie xx all performed or are expected to perform at the festival.
The deaths appeared to be due to drug overdoses but autopsies were planned, coroner’s Lt. Fred Corral told the Los Angeles Times (http://lat.ms/1OIVJsa ). “It is unfortunate that this kind of tragedy happens”.
Hard Summer opened its doors today at 11 a.m. PST for the second final day of music at the Fairplex in Pomona, California. “Individuals get carried away”, Oscar Mendez, 19, stated. “People try to fit in and they don’t know their limits”.
HARD Summer was previously held at the Whittier Narrows Recreation Area near South El Monte and at the Los Angeles State Historic Park near Chinatown.
Michael D. Antonovich and Hilda Solis, two Los Angeles County supervisors, stated Sunday they may search an investigation of the occasion to find out if it was correctly managed to make sure visitors’ security.
