20 dead in Turkey bomb blast
The blasts occurred minutes apart outside Ankara’s main train station, where hundreds of people were gathering for a peace march.
Pictures from the scene showed body parts in the road.
Turkish news agency Dogan said that at least 20 people have been killed.
Prime Minister Ahmet Davutoglu had been briefed over the blast by Health Minister Mehmet Muezzinoglu, it added.
Texas Southern University was on lockdown Friday as police searched for a suspect after two people were shot at a student housing complex, university officials said.
The state-run Andolu Agency said there were reports that the blasts were caused by a suicide bomber, but the source of the information was unknown.
The area was to have hosted an anti-government peace rally organised by leftist groups later in the day.
The rally aimed to call for an end to the renewed violence between Kurdish rebels and Turkish security forces. The attack comes weeks before Turkey’s November. 1 elections.
