20-year-old hangs self to death in metro station toilet
Mumbai: A 20-year-old boy committed suicide inside a toilet of Mumbai Metro’s Andheri station after being upset over a quarrel with his mother.
The deceased has been identified as Paresh Parmar.
This is believed to be the first incident of suicide at any of the Metro stations in the city ever since services were thrown open to the public in June 2014. Security officials of Mumbai Metro One Pvt Ltd (MMOPL) then informed the police, and officials from the Andheri police station, located right next to the Metro station, rushed to the spot. The note suggested that the deceased had some disparagement and argument with him mother which resulted in the suicide. The police recovered a suicide note from the body which said that no one must be held responsible for the death. “We have lodged an accidental death report and begun investigation under section 174 of the Criminal Procedure Code”, he said. The family of the deceased was contacted. post which Parmar’s mother and younger brother came to Mumbai to claim the body. He was discovered hanging from the ceiling of the toilet cubicle by the supervisory staff of the Metro station around midnight on Saturday.
