2nd former Mexican president unloads on Donald Trump
Donald Trump reminds the former Mexican President Vicente Fox of Hitler, and Fox wasn’t the only one to make the comparison.
Mr Trump is exploiting the social fears “that in his time Hitler himself did”, Mr Calderon told reporters.
Trump angered Mexico by declaring that the country was sending rapists and murderers across the border, and that he would force Mexico to pay for a giant wall to keep illegal migrants out.
Now that Jeb! has dropped out though, former Mexican president Vicente Fox is stepping in to spar with the real estate mogul.
In Fox’s interview with Univision anchor Jorge Ramos, Fox said “I’d like to know” who the Latinos were who voted for Trump in the Nevada caucuses.
Trump, who has never held elected office, is still leading the Republican presidential primary field, despite the fact that his campaign has been marked by controversial statements, including with disparaging remarks about Mexican immigrants and Muslims.
Then, on last night’s GOP debate, when asked how he was going to make Mexico pay for the wall, Trump replied, “I will, and the wall just got 10 feet taller, believe me”.
Fox retorted that Vice President Joe Biden told him it was “a sin” that we ‘have guys like [Trump] speaking the language he speaks’. I mean, he reminds me of Hitler. “He must apologize! If I did that there would be a uproar!” “He has offended the Pope”, Fox said.
“I’m happy to be on the Trump team and I look forward to working with him”, Christie said.
“Donald Trump is sowing anti-American hatred around the world, and those seeds can in the future become hard for the American people throughout the world”, Calderon said in an interview with Milenio TV.
Fox concluded Trump is simply egocentric.
Hispanic voters in the US should vote instead “to defend this very same nation that is holding you”, Fox said.
