3 brothers arrested for attacking 83-year-old woman in Irving
In another development, the family of 83-year-old Dessie Hancock spoke to reporters, one day after making the devastating decision to remove her from life support.
Hancock was allegedly attacked by three brothers in the Irving Heights area – Thomas Perkins, 18, Edward Perkins, 19, and Jesse Perkins, 20.
They were arrested shortly after Hancock was found on the ground Friday afternoon in the 1300 block of Boyd Drive.
Thomas, Edward, and Jesse Perkins were arrested and charged with aggravated assault.
Police said the woman was not expected to survive. “As the brothers left, she (victim) was walking up the driveway to that same house because she was going to meet up with a friend”. According to investigators, there was no apparent reason for the attack, during which Hancock was punched, kicked and stomped. Then he kicked and stomped her, police said.
Three brothers in North Texas are accused of beating to death an 83-year-old woman in what police are calling an unprovoked attack. They took her to a local hospital.
Jesse Perkins now could face more serious charges, including murder.
This story has been corrected to reflect that the attack happened Friday, not Saturday.
Hancock suffered traumatic brain injuries as a result of the attack, and the three brothers were charged with aggravated assault and were being held at the Irving City Jail on $100,000 bail.
