3 dead, 1 injured in Levy County shooting

According to spokesman Lt. Scott Thummond, deputies were called to the scene on Highway 40 at about 6:10 p.m. Thursday.

Tummond said the EMS crew arrived first and found two men shot in the front yard of the home.

The Levy County Sheriff’s office has confirmed that at least three have been shot dead and 1 airlifted to UF Health Shands Gainesville with serious injuries, WCJB TV-20 reports.

Police found two male bodies outside the house. Deputies say the incident started as a domestic disturbance at a home near the community center.

Officers are said to have surrounded a property near the town hall and reportedly saw a man standing in a window, before hearing a gunshot.

Authorities say three people are dead and one is critically injured after a shooting at a north Florida home. Police believe the man fatally shot on the lawn was a bystander who tried to intervene.

Police have not identified the people in shooting, pending next-of-kin.
