3 in critical condition after Vegas Strip crash
Authorities ruled out terrorism but said an initial investigation showed the driver did it deliberately.
Prosecutors say they expect to file murder charges and other counts against the driver. Jackson said the vehicle sped up when it reached a group of people.
Other people injured in the incident were treated and released, officials said. Although a counter-terrorism unit was called to the scene, police later concluded it was not an act of terrorism.
The female suspect drove off after the incident, but police caught up with her and she was detained, Clark County officials said. CNN reports that the woman has not been named, but she has been arrested and tested for alcohol and drugs.
“She didn’t appear to be distressed due to her actions”, Lombardo said.
Five of the injured are Canadian citizens.
One of the hospitals that treated the injured, University Medical Center, said of the 15 patients that arrived, one died, two were discharged, three are in critical condition and nine are in serious condition.
Medics transported 26 people to local hospitals, the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department said.
Justin Cochrane said he was having dinner at a patio restaurant when he suddenly saw the auto.
Her daughter did not suffer any injuries and is now in protective custody.

Police believe she had a falling out with the father of her child before the crash and may have been on her way to see him in Texas, Sheriff Joe Lombardo said at a press conference Monday. The person killed was an adult, he said. Clark County coroner John Fudenberg said Valenzuela was visiting Las Vegas with her husband. The cause and manner of death are pending.
Gov. Brian Sandoval issued a statement Sunday night offering the state’s help.
“What we do know right now: we have determined that this is an intentional act”, he said.
Around 6:40 p.m. PST, a woman drove onto a sidewalk two or three separate times near the Paris Hotel and Casino and Planet Hollywood.
Of the victims, some were from Montreal and needed a French translator, while four were OR college students in town to compete in a wrestling tournament. He says 19 athletes and coaches were walking together Sunday night when the woman swerved onto the sidewalk.
This is one of rarest cases where the attacker, a woman, rammed her vehicle into the crowd and continued hitting people and mowing them down.
