3 officers killed, 3 wounded in Baton Rouge shooting
Although information about this morning’s incident is still coming in, we do know that at least three officers are feared dead and several others are wounded.

Obama says the attacks on police officers, the second in two weeks, are “attacks on public servants, on the rule of law, and on civilized society, and they have to stop”.
Calhoun County Sheriff Greg Pollan posted to his Facebook and his Twitter a photo of MS and Louisiana, with a blue line through the black background and the phrase, “We are one family”.
A group of law enforcement officers was allegedly treated to a vile surprise when they made a decision to dine at a Baton Rouge, Louisiana Mexican restaurant on Saturday.
The US president has already issued a statement, saying: “there is no justification for violence against law enforcement”.
One of the officers is listed as critical and another in fair condition.
“The average officer in America, who was tense anyway, their tension and vigilance is going to increase even more”, Mr. Stephens said.
One suspect was shot dead and two other suspects might still be on the run, according to the local police.
Just down U.S. 10 and U.S. 12 from Baton Rouge, Gulfport Police Department mourned for the fallen as well. Baton Rouge Police were criticized by many protesters for heavy-handed police tactics during the protests following the arrests.
The suspected gunman was killed at the scene.
According to the Louisiana Law Enforcement Support Facebook page, the officers received the beverages they ordered at the Las Palmas Mexican Restaurant, and it appeared an employee had spit in them. “An attack on any of us is an attack on all of us”, he said.
The city’s mayor confirmed the shootings in the wake of police shootings of black men and the killings of five Dallas officers.
Following the Dallas memorial, Obama held an extraordinary four-hour meeting at the White House’s executive offices with police officers, community activists and elected leaders.
Police said the plot was the reason for their heavy response to last weekend’s protests over the death of Alton Sterling, a black man who was shot and killed by police officers on July 5 while he was pinned to the ground outside a convenience store.
Sterling’s nephew condemned the killing of the three officers.
Sterling’s nephew, Terrance Carter, spoke to the Associate Press on Sunday and said his uncle would not want this.
Coppola said that authorities believe the “scene is contained”, meaning that a shooter was unlikely on the loose.
When police arrived, the shooting began.
Investigators detained and questioned two suspicious suspects who were located in the neighboring West Baton Rouge Parish after members of the public called 911 about two suspicious men who were seen entering the WalMart in Port Allen.
Each of the officers was married and had a family, East Baton Rouge Parish Sheriff Sid Gautreaux said.
