#360TvSeries : Ariana Grande Returns As Chanel No. 2 in “Scream Queens”
After catching up on the episodes, one question remains in my mind: who is “The Red Devil”, and how is he/she/they related to the death of the KKT member in 1995? These included pop sensation Ariana Grande, who impressed in her minor part as one of Chanel’s flunkies before being bumped off in gloriously satirical fashion by the devil killer (only finally submitting to her injuries after updating her Twitter status), while Glee alumna Lea Michele was nearly unrecognisable as a dowdy teenager with a spinal disfigurement.
“It’s similar to American Horror Story in that it’s anthological but different in that at the end of the first season there will only be four characters out of 25 left”, Murphy said.
If you thought Tuesday’s episode of “Scream Queens” was full of jaw-dropping drama, just waituntil you see what Ryan Murphy and Brad Fulchuck, masterminds behind the hit Fox series, have up their blood-soaked sleeves for episode 7.
From the sound of things there will be a lot of them as well. He did say that in addition to the four survivors from the first Scream Queens season, there would be 10 more cast members.
“I’ve already started to meet those cast members”, Murphy said, before revealing what his casting preferences are. “I like to go after people I’ve always loved and never worked with before like Keke (Palmer) but Keke’s now in my world and will always be in my world but sometimes people will just write me emails and I’ve gotten a lot of emails”.
He’s received dozens of requests from actors, actresses, rock stars, pop stars and everything in between trying to score at least a guest appearance on the show.
As ever Murphy, executive producer and director of the pilot, painted with broad strokes – Scream Queens can not be taken remotely seriously either as a commentary on social divisions in the United States or as a genre excursion.
“Singer. Big pop star“, Murphy hinted. “I can’t give it away, they’d kill me”. Even as Scream Queens nears a wrap on filming its inaugural season, Murphy is still clutching the final scene in desperation.
“Lady Gaga wants to be on Scream Queens, she does”, Murphy said. (Her beau, Roger, wasn’t so lucky.) Ryan Murphy and crew must be keeping her around for a reason.
There’s lots of Murphy’s trademark ripeness in Scream Queens, a university-set serial killer romp already enjoying a major buzz in the United States.
Chanel No. 2 will make a return to Scream Queens in the November. 3 episode, and although she has officially been confirmed dead and her body will be buried, her spirit has a few running around to do.
