4 killed, others hurt in fiery Maryland crash

Donald Huff, who lives on the street where the accident took place, said he heard “a loud boom, just like a bomb”, and then saw the van burst into flames.
The truck then rammed into the 15-passenger van and exploded, according to the affiliate. A few bystander photos posted on social media showed flames rising above the crash site not far from the van, which Brady said could hold 15 passengers and had front-end damage from the crash.
“The hearth really concerned the pickup truck” and never the van, he mentioned by telephone.
“The fire just got bigger and bigger”, he told The Associated Press by phone.
An additional eight adults and six children were hospitalized, authorities said.
Jose Santos Jimenez, the pastor of Iglesia Ministerio de Dios Unido, was leading a service at his church when he got a phone call about the crash, and he rushed to the hospital. He spent most of Sunday night and all of Monday visiting and praying with the injured members of his small congregation, which has members from El Salvador, Honduras, Guatemala and Panama.
