4 people killed in head-on crash on Interstate 90
“We are saddened beyond belief by this news and our prayers are with their families and the families of the other couple involved Ryan and Emily Hrubes, as well as the driver of the other vehicle”, the Hope Center wrote in a statement.
The Highway Patrol says a man driving a pickup eastbound in the westbound lanes crashed into an S-U-V.
The driver of the pickup, along with three occupants in the second vehicle, died. Three of the four people riding in the SUV were also killed, including Ty and Terri Schenzel and 28-year-old Ryan Hrubes. A fourth passenger who was traveling with the Schenzels suffered serious non-life threatening injuries. All four are from Omaha, NE. He, and his wife Terri, founded the Hope Center for Kids in 1998.
Ty retired from his position directing the Hope Center earlier this year. “They’re extremely generous, and they live a life of just giving”. Ty had officiated the Hrubes’ wedding a few months prior.
One of their sons started a Facebook Group in memoriam. “Terri made you feel like you were the most important person in the room, and Ty, he has a huge heart”.
“The impact of their loss is going to be felt way beyond our church”, he said.
