4 shot in 3 northern Maine communities, gunman being sought
Maine State Police say they are now looking for 35-year-old Anthony Lord, of Crystal and Houlton, in connection with today’s shootings of four people in three northern Maine communities.
Steve McCausland, a spokesman for the Maine Department of Public Safety, said the shootings occurred in Lee, Benedicta and Silver Ridge.
Anthony Lord is considered “armed and dangerous” and is thought to have stolen a logging truck, police said, releasing two photographs of Lord taken from the Maine Sex Offenders Register.
Here is the roadblock on Ridge Road on North Road and Route 6 in Lee. There were no immediate word on the victims’ conditions. He is described as 5-feet-9-inches tall and 263 pounds with blond hair and blue eyes.
First responder reports say that police are in pursuit of a Peterbilt truck in Houlton but it is not clear if this is connected to the shootings. The truck has a Maine commercial plate number 631745, with an orange pulp boom.
Police have focused their search in Lee, which is under lockdown.
State Police have set up a command post at Lee Academy to coordinate the efforts.
