410-Pound LaQuan McGowan (Baylor TE) Scores Touchdown
Now, this Kansas team is so bad that even Baylor’s eggs will win easily, but I’m not buying into the idea that they’ll be up 70-0 at the half or anything. Quarterback Seth Russell leads the country in pass efficiency.
Baylor totaled a season-low 644 yards after netting 425 in the first half, establishing a 52-7 margin at the break. Winning at Kansas State will be more hard, however, with the Wildcats still riled over a two-point loss to Oklahoma State last week that included a blown call that gifted the Cowboys a phantom first down on a drive that ended in a score.
Not only did McGowan, a senior from Amarillo, Texas, make the easy grab, he pulled a nice little move to dodge the defender and make his way into the end zone during the second quarter of Baylor’s 66-7 rout of Kansas. Such errors could be beneficial for the Jayhawks if they persist into this week’s game. Kansas RB Ke’aun Kinner ran for 157 yards in the season opener.

I guess, the Big 12 wasn’t really into scheduling its North Division powder-puff against its South Division powder-puff back in the day.
“I don’t know if it’s possible to completely block (the score) out in your head”, he said.
His only career catch prior to today’s touchdown came least season when he hauled in an 18-yard pass that also went for a touchdown. McGowan then side-stepped around the only Jayhawk in the area, who didn’t look like he wanted much to do with the mountain of a man in the first place.
When Baylor was whistled for a foul with less than 20 seconds left in the second overtime, the referee stopped the clock after one of the BU players kicked the ball away, giving the Kansas Jayhawks time to set up for the last shot. Teams have completed 85-of-140 passes for 1,015 yards and eight touchdowns. The touchdowns marked the first for Stidham in Big 12 conference play.
After looking disorganized early, the Bears’ defense buckled down to hold Kansas to 60 yards of total offense over the course of their next eight possessions in the first half.
Throughout the half, Kansas had no answer for the Baylor offense.
Not exactly the way to face one of the nation’s most dynamic teams. Xavien Howard picked up the fumble and scampered down the Kansas sideline 30 yards for a touchdown.
