450-hp 2016 Audi A8 L 4.0T Sport Joins Lineup
New for 2016, the Audi A8 L 4.0T Sport model features more power and enhanced equipment. BMW’s full-size competitor makes a hair less power than the Audi, with 445 horsepower from a 4.4-liter twin-turbocharged V8 while Mercedes-Benz counters with a 4.7-liter bi-turbo V8 making 449 horsepower.
This year, Audi has turned up the heat on the 4.0T Sport to 450 horsepower, up 15 horses from the previous year.
Setting it apart from the rest of the A8 family, the new model gains S8-inspired front and rear fascias. As standard, the auto rides on a 20-inch set of five-double spoke alloy wheels wrapped around in all-season tires, but customers also have the possibility of upgrading to larger 21-inch five-arm rims shod in summer tires.
Those who opt for the Executive or Luxury package will see 22-way Comfort seats in their A8 “with Valcona leather and a sporty diamond pattern stitching”. A panoramic sunroof is surrounded by Alcantara headliner, and acoustic glazing on the windows provides a dimmed, warm feeling inside the auto.
As far as technology goes, the 4.0T Sport comes with everything you’d expect from a luxury sedan these days, including a head-up display, Audi’s so-called side assist which helps drivers change lanes and monitors traffic around the vehicle, and last but not least, available adaptive cruise control.
Pricing for the 2016 Audi A8 L 4.0T Sport start from $90,500, excluding $925 destination.
