49ers’ Kendall Gaskins: Could start at running back Sunday

This week the 49ers signed Baltimore Ravens practice squad running back DuJuan Harris as cover for their seemingly endless injuries in that position.

Tomsula, in an interview with San Francisco radio station KNBR, praised Hayne’s work ethic, but echoed McGaughey by saying the Australian “just needed to play football and get a feel of the running game”.

Maiocco reported Draughn’s knee injury may not be as serious as first feared but his availability is uncertain.

The 49ers’ two best running backs, Carlos Hyde and Reggie Bush, are injured.

San Francisco have had running back woes all year long.
